Primocane Blackberries vs. Floricane Blackberries:
Primocane Blackberries: plants that fruit on the current year's growth, such as Prime-Ark45 Thorny, Prime-Ark Freedom Thornless, and Prime-Ark Traveler Thornless. We recommend these varieties if you wish to have a fall crop, in late August to November Depending on the Hardiness Zone.
Floricane Blackberries: berries fruit on the prior year's growth and are considered summer fruiting varieties, beginning of June to August 15, depending on the Hardiness Zone and spring weather conditions. If the current spring is colder with late frost conditions, your blackberry crop will be delayed. Try to water thoroughly to save your crop through the dry hot season.
Trailing and semi-erect cultivars need a trellis. Erect cultivars can grow as bushes. Send us an e-mail with 14 pages of instructions about pruning and trellising. All of our blackberries are tissue-cultured plants.

We ship all year depending on your Hardiness Zone and our weather conditions!
Many varieties are limited in quantity. USDA release, SWEETIE PIE is disease resistant THORNLESS variety, famous for its heat tolerance. OSAGE THORNLESS is available NOW! Prime Ark FREEDOM and Prime Ark TRAVELER Thornless Primocane are ready to ship. A New University of Arkansas variety Caddo Thornless Floricane is coming soon! Please, order while product supplies last. Use Pine shavings around blackberries and leave a 2-foot mulch-free spot around the plant when you replant them. After your plant is rooted in and established you can add 1 inch high of mulch to start with. Please do not use any other mulch for blackberries, especially acidic ones or dyed ones!

Easier to Establish: smaller plants can go into 1-gallon pots first to get them larger to replant them into the ground and it helps push them to grow faster. Do not use larger sizes of the pots to replant.

Please, weed all the grass around at least 4 '.

Do not rely on a dripping system while your plants are not well established, especially if it is hot. Water by hand!

Our plants are very healthy, virus/diseases indexed and they will give lots of new growth this summer, being tissue cultured! Please, watch late frost for possible damages! Cover your plants with special white material to protect them nicely. Please do not leave your plants on their own. while they are not established, they can be damaged. Read the "Blackberry Growing Information" chapter, please! All our plants are the best varieties and in perfect shape to plant, VIGOROUSLY growing!
