Tifblue (Vaccinium ashei Reade) was released in Georgia in 1955. (Cross Ethel x Clara. A parent of Ochlockonee.) Chilling requirement of 600-700 hours. Mid-late season. Approximate date of ripening in south Georgia is late June to August 1. The fruit is medium size with average color and picking scar, and good firmness and excellent  flavor.The first picking of Tifblue can be mechanically harvested for the fresh market during good weather conditions.  Plants have vigorous, upright growth. Cane numbers can be excessive and pruning. Brightwell and Powderblue for pollination. Zone: 7-10. Size: 1 gal.
