Tupi Thorny (PI 638226) Uruguay blackberry × Comanche Rio Grande do Sul, Embrapa, Brazil. Early to mid-season ripening cultivar. Huge 7-9g berries. Well-balanced taste: one of the sweetest varieties with greatest flavor. Canes are erected. One of the most popular cultivars in Mexico. Perfect plant for Southern states. Heat tolerant . Easy to grow. Zone: 6-9.

    I purchased Tupi last year and it was delivered in terrific condition. After a brutal winter, it looked as though it wouldn't survive. Boy was I mistaken. It made a comeback and has caught up to the ones I ordered this year. I love the plants I received from BU. They are good strong cultivars.
