It is also one of the best strawberry varieties for making jams or freezing. Producing high numbers of runners, the extreme vigor of sparkle strawberries requires more diligent monitoring of the strawberry bed, to make sure it doesn't get too thick. Sparkle strawberries are medium-sized and ripen mid-late season.  Planting Sparkle with other earlier varieties extends the fresh fruit season.  Strawberries from Sparkle plants are bright and deep red and have excellent flavor.
